    Key players from the Ontario marriage case will discuss how the case developed, and the roles played in the outcome by the community, lawyers, judges and government.

  • Panel 2 ­ The World: Mary Bonauto (USA) , Francesc Jaurena (Spain), Karon Monaghan (England), Kees Waaldijk (Netherlands), and Dan Yakir (Israel)

    What are the lessons of the Ontario marriage case for the rest of the world? And what have been the international connections around marriage? Key global experts will enlighten us on these issues. The statute based reforms in the Netherlands and Spain will be presented, as well as the successful litigation approach in Massachusetts. We will conclude with presentations on the legal proceedings underway in England and Israel seeking domestic recognition of Canadian same sex marriages.
